he may have very low compression.
it all comes down to preference. some peeps will have higher comp and smaller turbos to have a linear power curve and lower top end power figures. others might have lower comp pistons with huge turbos to have high top end power figure, but a power curve like your mates. then there is a bit of A and B mixed in the middle. |

a GT2854 will spool up sooner and is better matched for an engine as small as the BP... boost kicks in even sooner at around 2000rpm.... you can make up for the slight loss of top end with better cams and higher compression pistons (8.5 instead of 8.2)

A good rod upgrade if you can find a deal is using rods from a kc-ke / bf b6t.
They are a beefy rod and are a straight fit to a bpt. All the fl.com boys with big power bpt back in the day all had b6t rods and forged pistons. Yes they make arias off the shelf part for the bpt |

Just bought arp studs (head and main), 9.5:1 84mm wisecos and eagle rods for $1100 delivered. Let the detonation begin. The other stuff will end up in my daily at this rate then sold off.

Yes I most certainly will!. Cheapest place to buy one? Matt, I've done loads of looking at brands. All wisecos I've seen fail were due to stupid setups, incorrect tolerances and not being checked before installation.

there isn't really place cheaper than the other, the prices are fairly strictly controlled
