forgot to mention according to the QR website the track is open at 8am and will probably close at 5pm.
so plenty of time for peeps to get heaps of laps also just realized there is a practice day this Saturday as well from 9am to 4pm must have missed that one when I was looking. I will be doing some work on the car on Saturday so that's no good for me. definitively looking forward to next Friday though. Last edited by SIlversp20; 02-11-2011 at 02:03 PM. |

Both of the prac days are actually in lead up to the Top Gear final round for the year on the Sunday. There will be some seriously fast cars there, so I'm hoping I won't get in the way too much. Either that or they run a newbie group, I just don't want to be mucking up people's practice when they are practising for the big race on Sunday and lapping 10 secs or more faster than me.

Yeh it should be OK, just try not to be on track with that Torana. He is very fast and very selfish. There is a vid from my mate's car of the Torana trying to out brake him and take the line and nearly taking them both off the track.
My first run at Lakeside I was the first one out. I got overtaken by every other car behind me, but that's cool, I didn't even know the track and I stayed off the line and waved them past as often as possible. I even passed a Corolla on my second session. :P |

I really wish I wasn't working tomorrow. Would love to take the 3k on the track. Next time I guess

Won't know until the end of the day most likely. If there is time, they throw some happy laps in I think. Free entry for spectators and passengers though.

So this is only 2 days away now. I'm still coming, but I don't have anyone who can come with to watch my toolbag and street wheels, etc. I was planning on bringing an esky with ice, water and powerades as the cost of food and drinks at Lakeside is criminal. But does anyone want to meet up just prior to entry or something? That or I get there around 8am and park across a 2 car bay to save a spot for someone.

OK sweet, I'm about 20 mins away from Lakeside at Carseldine, where do I need to go to pick you up? Or do you want to come to me?
