Mounts are the same as the engine is just a turbo version of the same engine. BP -> BPT

get the ecu that matches the motor, or go aftermarket. don't try and 'remap' the wrong ecu.
does what come with an intercooler? a front cut? an engine package? |

imo, if you're going to spend the money on an engine swap, dont go half the way. microtech is very good value for money - naturally i can help you with that

GTX clutch will fit the FWD G Series (BG SP) box, but not the FWD F series (BG SOHC) box. The clutch spline is different.

ok a read through the first two pages of this thread; and not being "inner workings on my engine" buff; i am throughly confused by all the numbers and abbreviations. Being the type of guy who gets my mechanic to install or take out anything that goes on or in my car, i want to ask a few questions;
i have a 96' BA 1.8L Manual; 2" cat-back exhaust; and no other mods under the hood. So a Stock engine. I am looking to get more grunt out of my baby girl. And am looking to install a turbo. Reading the first post, i have to invest alot cash into it. Being on a small supervisor's wage at a RSL club; I can tell you now that i wont be buying it all at once, and i would like to work on it slowly and feel every little increase so i will appreciate it more. This brings me to the question. In your personal experience or just knowledge about these things, AstinaGT-ites; Where should i start? then from there.. what do i put in next? etc. And please if u can answer in simple-people speak, it would be greatly appreciated. As im willing to learn as much as i can about the wonderful world of astina. thank you greatly

the cheapest way to go turbo is to buy a halfcut(half front of car) from import wreckers of a 'bpt'..(which is the type of engine)
ur standard engine assuming its a 4 cyl not a 6? should be a 'bp'...so basically same engine but turbo. other wise turbo ur standard engine would involve buying new ecu-(computer), all the pipe work,stronger internals and getting wiring done for a start.which ends up being alot of money,if ur just looking for bit more out of ur astina as is. hope this helps u out abit,im sure some1 can ellaborate abit more N/A = naturaly aspirated(non turbo) ecu = cars computer/the brains gtr or gtx = the model of car which the bpt moter comes out of HD = heavy duty as suggestion best thing is to spend couple hours on search |

oh ok, thanks for the advice!! But i would rather save the trouble of buying half a car, and just do-up the engine that i already have... As i maybe understating when i say "more grunt".
So where should i start?
