This!! Crazy people and their crazy ideas somehow, eventually leads to innovation. lol If you have the $ and the time to do loads of research about water meth... and would really like to experiment... by all means go nuts! I have some sort of an understanding of the type of person that Mr. Cookie is... hence my suggestion of watermeth... i believe you will gain alot of knowledge and entertainment experimenting with water meth and ceramic coatings You have never ever experienced throttle response on a turbo car without trying water meth, no intercoolers and ceramic coating... its insane! couple that with E85 on a high boost application and its BONKERS!! Yes its a tad expensive and may be "excessive" ... but if efficiency is what you are after, then its something to look into

engine efficiency and engine response are getting confused currently. lets go back to getting the engine running and to boost at lowest rpm possible using lowest amount of fuel used.

So running watermeth, dropping intake temps dramatically and having no inter cooling piping for the air to flow through will reduce efficiency and will not cause boost at the lowest rpm possible?

I have an extremely important question though....
How much boost are you going to run??

If it makes a difference this car will probably never be daily driven. I intend to either keep my current car, or get a work ute supplied and sell my DD. However if its easy to drive, economical and reliable, it may end up as a daily and sell the other car off. Just a wait and see, I don't think I'll be able to resist taking it for a drive once its built!
Psi: not sure yet. It'll be a case of see how it performs and drives, and go from there. IIRC 8psi is close to 13-14 on a vj20, so maybe 10psi?

let's stick to efficient, tried and true reliability
meth injection is fairly new and high maintenance (have to refill that ****) for the price of the system, I rather put that money towards a nice small sized but efficient intercooler and a J&S safeguard... with a good ball bearing turbo, it'll be responsive, and SAFE

^^ Use the watermeth kit for track or mountain runs IMO if anything.

If minimal volume between compressor and t/b is important then consider air/water intercooler or a water spray cooled GTX intercooler with some air ducting. Plenty of ways to skin a cat.

the GTX intercooler maybe small but it's not that great... seriously, what do you expect from something factory and more than 20 years old design?
you can make a modern intercooler using the latest technologies built to the same size as the GTX intercooler and it'll work much better case in point: the FD RX-7's intercooler sucks... it's a newer car and was Mazda's pride and joy! the MSP used the EDM 323F Turbo diesel intercooler... that also sucks!

Weekend, motorsports as often as possible, 3-4 per year? Had a fun time at the drags last night, cheap entertainment vs trackdays, plus I will have to beat the bog stock Colorado who I lost to :s
