The trackspeed disc would make a decent shuriken i guess.
I'll get it figured sooner or later. I think with the z wheel without cas would take the direct fire option away. |

Ok heres a shot of modified cas. It seems it will only fit one way so a 180* clocking error can't occur? You can see the single remaining tooth at approx 2oclock and the magnetic sensor at about 8oclock.
Heres a dodge effort at capturing the trigger wheel image. The extra tooth is 9oclock. The sensor mounting hole is visible on the right, near dipstick and i believe it would be aiming at tooth (just visible) near it. Hope it gives an idea of setup. Things are happening fellas. Got a shrinking list of things to do which reads something like: torque intake manifold, exhuast manifold. Figure out how to plug injector holes, rewire car.
That last one will be made a pooload easier thanks to a newly aquired Painless wiring kit (#10102). Remember up there ^^^ i said simple hotrod circuits? Losing intermittent wipe unless i perform surgery on the wiper stalk, headlights are on dash, it would actually be easier to use a push button start and use original key barrel lock for first stage ignition disable relay and have a second stage ignition on toggle. That crank trigger sensor is mounted after tapping and filing here and there. Pics soon, |

There was that small alloy tab that i had to remove but the sensor looks true with a stable mounting so i don't expect trouble with it. I should've pointed out in the last post, the earlier attempt at wiring , see previous, was a good enough reason to have a proper go! Arming up with the correct crimper and other tools helps get everything to factory spec or better. Last edited by ghetto3; 05-06-2014 at 12:55 AM. |

Just to show you buggers i'm still at it. I got the painless fuse panel mounted and a seperate relay/circuit braker panel getting slowly hooked up. I've had to revert to an older style 'kingswood style of headlight switch with floor mounted dimmer, a two speed gm style wiper switch on the dash and a push start style ignition switch that is protected by the original key barrel as a master arming relay trigger.
Working with the painless kit has been a pleasure. Although aimed at muscle cars and the like, they are easily adapted to our later models albeit with compromises here and there. Got a 10 row oil cooler on the way to plumb up soon too. Grinding away at it fellas. Hope your own projects are keeping you as entertained as mine has been. Getting the wiring done, a couple of quick shots so I don't have to crap on too much. Last edited by ghetto3; 04-06-2014 at 11:22 PM. |

the flasher relays on the fuse box will have to be changed out for LED compatible ones.
The painless wiring kit is ol' school, threading full power through the headlight switch rather than use relays, I just fed the headlight wires to trigger relays on the little relay panel, overkill but yeah. I will cover that live bus bar there too! Astinas use a tns relay to protect parkers, taillights and such, since I'm using leds in all lights I omitted it and went with painless' original circuit. The relay panel sits halfway between battery and headlights/engine bay so to keep wires as short as possible. Basically any plug I could omit or change to an ip65 rated one, has been. Its been fun but distracting from stuff I should be getting on with (like sending those injectors or paying for that alternator ) Last edited by ghetto3; 23-04-2014 at 06:01 PM. |

The headlight switch, controls parkers, headlights and interior lights. It required a fair bit of work to get in there but came up neat enough and biomechanically (!!!) satisfactory. The hazard switches and fuel pump switch are led toggles in background. The soft dash is covered with some kind of stretchy black fabric and sikaflex spray adhesive, however it's lifting here and there so I 'll probably do it again. There's a few I've skirted I guess, but anything important, say the ignition system has had a lot of thought go into it to make sure no safety features have been "subtracted", though it has been "altered" and technically would come under scrutiny.
The ignition barrel locking column feature has to stay, so does the key, I set mine up so there is no way you can start the car without first unlocking the column, it'd kind of suck to forget that step and start off down the road! My indicator stalks have not been altered, the wiper stalk is MIA though, right up to the electrics about the clock spring. As long as the hazard switch is clearly visible I think it's cool, the floor mounted dimmer I think there'd be a rule but I couldn't find one. Last edited by ghetto3; 24-04-2014 at 09:26 PM. |

Bit of dust on it now, but hoping to be able to work on it soon again. All the bits are there, just need to bolt it/tune it. |
