My car = 99% ready to go back on the road.

Just waiting on another silicone bend from ebay.
Stupid gearbox engine mount

I was interested to see that Royal Purple oil is actually Purple in color.
I ended up hiding the boost control module under the radiator fan, where you can only see it if you look hard.

Hopefully this weekend I can find time to finish.
it still won't have the 'non-essential' upgrades done ( new doors/speaker mounts, cruise control etc ) but it will at least go. But they can wait until I have finished moving into my new house and have the garage space rather than dodgy driveway jobs.

I workrd out going round mt coot tha slightly too fast in 2nd uses 9.4L/100k's... dunno how when the revs were between 3-5 the majority of the time!

would be sweet economy when driven smoothly

Put the engine lid spacers back onto the Beetle to help it run cooler in this heatwave, and also got the interior fan working again. So at least i've got some air circulating again.

Still waiting on the Astina radiator.

well, yesterday i crashed - or rather someone ran into me!

BMW bikes are heavy... lol.

was turning left from the left hand lane, and some idiot was on the shoulder, didnt see him at all, just came speeding down the side (traffic was slow) and i was almost in the street when i hear this THUMP. looking from the back, the left cluster is ruined (thankfully the bulbs still work), the left side panel (The one with the fuel flap in it is completely bent in and will hopefully just be able to be panel beated out, and my rim is completelty scratched and possibly ruined, and the tyre was split.

all of this on the way to mt mee with friends to have some fun on the windy roads. luckily its still somewhat drivable, with the help of some cellophane over the lights!

had my p plates less than a month, and already crashed! o well. shouldnt be my fault.
any suggestions?

completely new to this sort of thing! ive got third party property insurance.

nope. doesnt help when an ambo puts him on a stretcher and takes him away! rang AAMI (my insurance) and they know about it. they said get some quotes and send him a letter of demand? then he has to forward that to his insurance company.

that sound about right? got his address, phone number and name. + bike details. no lic. number/insurance provider though

thanks burbs for this. hoepfully it will be the first and final time. i would be less annoyed if id run into someone else... but seeing as it shouldnt be my fault, will i have to pay anything? and how does getting tyres replaced, i assume i will ahve to go to a few places to get the different parts replaced or can one garage/shop do it? any recommended places close to the city/inner west?

If you were turning left its your responsibility to give way to the oncoming traffic !
That includes motorbikes! They're allowed to run along the shoulder but not lane split on moving traffic.

I hope the rider is ok , else this may get even more serious for you

Probably best to make a police report, get some quotes and contact his inurance company. Just in case ask if he is denying responsability, forward same to your insurance company and make sure they have each others details.
Your insurance will not want to pay him if they believe him to be in the wrong. Once liability is sorted (assumably in your favour) you can persue a claim against the damages.
Ask the pannel shops about what they can and can't fix within a claim.

i dont think motorbikes are allowed to run in the shoulder up here in qld, but in peakhour most police do give a blind eye especially if the rider is wearing full leathers and its 30+degrees

peak hr, yes, leathers, no. 30+c no.

honestly, yes, i didnt look as well as i should/could have. but you dont usually assume that there will be a bike 10m behind you who will run into you as you're turning!!! cant see how its my fault more than his.
