How exactly is this achieved? 17psi with stock ECU???

You can run any boost on a stock ECU if you have big enough injectors and a Jaycar DFA & UEGO to control fuel mapping...

Ryan what you have posted makes no sense to me, how could simply running a bigger turbo increase the ECU's potential to map for 17psi? and even if he had a boost controller the ecu would still cut fuel out at 14psi or 85% injector load...

Really Gav? of course this isnt as good as a Microtech or whatever is it? is it still tuned on a dyno? ay links at all?

The DFA works best on the B6T with it's mechanical vacuum advance on the dizzy, so the lack of timing control on the Digital Fuel Adjuster isn't an issue... The DFA will still work on the BPT, but the stock ECU may not pull timing as may be needed at high boost levels (whatever that is).

Microtech will be better, and let's you remove the VAF. But an UEGO/gauge is $350+, and a DFA is also only ~$140 with hand controller if you build it yourself.

Gav.

the car in question might even have a fuel cut defender installed. there is 10-20 types/models available on the market currently.

as gav said, programmable ecu would be better...

Yesh well i got that quote off a member on FL.com so i think he is running such pressure on a stock ECU...would take a bit of mucking around though..

Brad's car runs the Fuel control unit from jaycar to do exactly that...control fuel. If the standard ECU does not control fuel, you don't have a fuel cut. A Gav already said, a Microtech or such will be better because you can adjust the timing map...timing is where most of the power out of an engine is achieved.

Yes it has taken him a fair bit of mucking round...it's a contant process of seeing what works best. There is many threads on fl.com on the process that Brad has been through and there are also dyno results on there.
