If you are in an area where ECU swaps don't comply with local laws then knowing that the F2T ECU will happily run your turboed FE3 could save some heart break.

Luckily I'm in an area where there's no regulations against swapping ECU - I'll be bolting in a complete aftermarket EMS.

It's been over a year, but the conversion has finally been done.

Someone stated that it was not easy - UNDERSTATEMENT of the year

The swap was not so bad, but everything else(unexpected) that went wrong was just plain pain in the @ss!

Just to let everyone know - this swap was well worth it and not so much trouble if you have a decent engineer to build the custom mounts for the Engine and Gearbox, also if you do not want to raise a hump in your stock Astina bonnet, you will need to widen the front chassis arms slightly to fit it...

So at the end of the day the needed to fit the motor was:

- Chassis arms cut and modded to fit engine and G-box
- Custom engine mounts
- Custom Gearbox mounts
- Custom mounts for A/C, alternator, etc. as you need to swap them from right-hand to left-hand to fit the engine
- Custom mount for battery
- Aftermarket Cone air-filter as the stock does not fit
- New wiring harness for 2.0 engine
- New EMS
- Change of RPM pickup sensor from cable-driven to electronic.

That's about it, pretty straight-forward. It took me this long mostly due to trusting an engineer that kept me waiting for over a year while not actually doing anything to my car!

would it not have been easier to bore the 1.8 to 2.0???
and flow the head and get bigger valves?

better bore to stroke ratio with the fe and a true stroker conversion is easy with F2 crank
But with a square ratio you can rev harder easy 8000rpm.

Over all engine is better, if you go for Massive power.
just think of it as mazda's SR20 with direct bucket over shim valve actuation

She's currently getting a new spray-job and then a new interior, then she's coming home to me to have braided hoses fitted, new ceramic coated branch and get all the Nice-to-haves done.

I'll post pics as soon as possible.

Hey guys.

If you plan put F2T with F2T gerbox then need watch size under the hood. For BG Astina is needed to much overbuilt to fit any engine with F2T gearbox. F2T gearbox dimension is bigger then FE3 or FE8 gearbox. Other Astinas donīt know, havent watch. For BG is the other problem to. Space under the is not enouge for FE3, FE3 with is under 8cm bigger then BP DOHC.

I start build my BG Astina FE3?(N or T, donīt know today) project after moving to my new home, there is in the garden enouge space to wreck my GD 626 copue and move donor BG Astina frome fathers home to my home. I hope I can start august because after september allready canīt build in Estonia nothing without garage, but I donīt have garage yet.
