Turboing a ZM engine with auto

Hi, sorry if this has been covered. I did a quick search.
Turboing a ZM series 1.6 has obviously been done.
Can anyone point me to posts about it?

Questions.
1. Are there turbo manifolds available or is custom the only way?
2. How much power / torque will the stock 4 speed auto handle?
3. Have people had their cars engineered? If so what did you need to do? eg. Upgrade suspension and brakes from say the 1.8 model (4 wheel discs etc.)
4. How much will the standard injectors flow (can anyone advise of their size)
5. Can anyone advise of larger plug in replacement injectors?
6. How much will the standard fuel pump support?
7. Any other things that are relevant such as mods needed to increase reliability of engine / gearbox etc. when boosted?

Cheers,
Damian

do a search for "1.6 turbo" and it'll throw up a few vaguely relevant results.

In my experience (ie a friend with a SR20VET with auto), the auto won't take a whole lot more power than standard, you'll have to rebuild it with stronger bits that'll end up costing you an arm and a leg.

Hiboost seems the easiest option, but from memory there's compatibility issues between RHD and LHD but maybe that was just the 1.8.

If it's a JATCO (nissan) mazda box - don't bother it, unless you can fit a bigger dady box from a bigger motor. In most cases they are same box'es with different intenrals number of clutch packs etc. But even when they are built for turbo's they don't like it much. The main problem is the main dirve gears are strong like all Jap box'es but the Diff's are too weak and once it shatters it stuffs the rest of it. I tried everything on my mx-6 box from chryo to any kind of strengthening andf even dropped the boost but left the retune it was enough to kill it still chipped two teeth and no hard driving either and that was my last $6K box done. It shifted hard stalled nice - chirpped or spunt into 2nd on WOT. but the diff just would not take the power. So Either find a diff to fit and you can make it go unreal - dystroy any manual any time especially off the line loaded up if you can hook it up. 1.5 60 foots if you go enoguh low down but, the Diff has to hold.

Now finding a diff. well hmm Heres one for history - if you get one from a G series box it should fit into the same box used in the Ba 4 speed OD of eirther the BP or KF -. but It will need a custom Ring gear to match up. Possibly some machining to to git bearigns into the case.
Now add in some new cltuch packs more if you can fit or just a decnet sotck build with strong band - either kevlar ( stock ones usually extrememly good)
add in larger oil cooler and about 3K later it should go.
