Running 2 amps
Hey hows it going.... just got a question
im running 2 amps in my car 1. US AUDIO 4x50wrms (powers fronts and 6x9) 2. Response 2x150wrms (powers 2 10") When I turn the gain up on the amps, the engine revs go up. (I can basically rev my car from turning the gain up and down lol) i kinda know what the problem might be, too much charge being taken from the battery so the engine revs harder to make the alternator power more. how does one get rid of this problem?

The engine computer adjuts the idle controller to bring the revs up when the electircal load goes up.
You dont want to get rid of it. However if the gains are making that much difference its worth looking at why they would put a strain on your car. Make sure you have a hefty power cable from the battery to the boot to power the amps, and also that you have a clean , strong ground spot with the paint sanded off so that its contact on bare metal. Weak power & ground supply for amps will increase the resistance and that'll increase the electrical strain on the car. |

My standard Astina stereo would do that
it got interference from the flywheel when it was turned up loud. as the dood said cehck the grounding. if not you might need one of them capacitor things increasing the output from the altinator wouldnt do anything really. like it would put more charge into the battery but that dosent sound like its the problem. probably cables or somthing. are your RCA leads running next to your power lead? ya should use like 0 gauge or somthing |

get like 4 guage power cable run that close to your amps with a splitter close to the amps with like 8 guage to each amp makes ya whole stereo crank harder cos it can get more power with out strain ....yea make sure ya power cable is ran down one side of ya car and the rcas down the other thats what i have with a 400w clarion amp for 4 splits and 300w alpine amp for 2 15" runs fine ...
