KF Supercharger Kit

Anyone know where a kit can be found for the k series V6's?

The missus has been at me to do some research and get it planned out as she has some cash she wants to splurge on her car

Going to be using standard engine and low boost with piggyback.

Just not sure on which supercharger and how to mount it. If anyone has come across anything, any sort of help will be fantastic.

Thankyou.

you're better off doing a KL-ZE swap if you don't want to spend too much money

if money isn't an issue, anything will work.

lots of probes in the US were supercharged and it makes alot of sense. S/C works really well with both large capacity due to the power loss at low revs and short stroke engines due to lack of bottom end torque. S/C can fill it.

Some ran additional shafts with additional belts. Most were positive displacement type. Effective and running reasonable boost numbers.

But Turbos took over for both simple plumbing and overall larger HP gain.

Finding one of the original kits will be hard. Or course Ebay is full of off the shelf turbo kits.

Well is a supercharger like a turbo where mounting is concerned?
Like a turbo can be mounted as long as the flange is right, what about a supercharger

Those eBay turbo kits are a worry, otherwise that would be my first choice...

biggest issue i see is space. mx6s and probes are alot bigger. the missus happy to lose the aircon?

probably be cheaper to sell the V6, buy a I4 and BPT conversion.

Haha she would kill me if I took the air con away. Looking at the other Mazda guys who have done it have put it on the right side of the engine bay and used a pulley and rod system on a 30x. They woulds be roughly the same size?

Why not a BPT conversion on the V6? Has the bigger brakes and ABS, A/C compressor is in the correct place. All you'd really need to do is swap the I4 power steering pump and hoses and re-wire the alternator.

Hmmm OK then....
Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.7 litre engine. It was co-developed with the K series Mazda engine making it the largest. AFAIK you'd be a pioneer on this one though.

In terms of mounting - 90% of east -west engines aka transverse Require alot of work to get them to mount a supercharger. At minimal a new intake manifold and intercooling is very difficult.

The odd balls out have used tricks like mounting on the rear - been part of the intake - So S/C motor varys massivly from normal N/A versions.

Turbo for K - series is in effect once the original intake is remove it's mounted above the gearbox. Once the factory air box is removed it's got more then enough room.

even on BA HT - the shorter hatch nose might be touch tighter but I doubt it.

on Mx-6 /probe 626 it's still tight but not Current GT-R or merc tight. I mean even when you have rtemove the plastic you can't see much.

IMO - the only issue with two manifodls joining on the V6 is heat removal. I worked on plan and my only issue was heat so - fair whack of cahs should be injected into heat proof coats just to aid in under bonnet temps and boost overall output.

Some would say tuning is problem but one has to take into account I have always noticed a large trend for these motors to be boosted and used mostly on street cars for drag racing where numbers and pushing the limit is wanted. But impressive numbers alot of them are. Proberly a US thing.

The KM (Miller Cycle) had a kind of supercharger on it. Maybe you could use some parts off one of them
