nah the aftermarket bloody resinator or what ever crap they are on these...but yes that bend at the coolant body is stupid, i dont no why people spend so much money on these sort of conversions and dont do it properly...

even a little skyline/silvia/180sx intercooler would go great on 1 of these, put it in the opposite well an youve got yourself some extra power

why have the air filter there? you restrict how much air you get in with that set up...

i see what your saying. didnt think about it that way. but at the end of the day would there be that much difference. ur taking the air from the same space and its still gettin filtered just in a different location.

as you have a pipe leading upto the airfilter you are restricted to what is just going up the pipe, slower to accelerate, if you have the filter down where its taking the air in with out a huge surround around it like that it will get air in a bit quicker...

lol, sorry for go a bit off topic there marc.

bak to the supercharger kit, what would be the advantages of a supercharger then a turbo?
Also considering the whole supercharger kit would be alot cheaper then a turbo convertion.
and would you need to run a aftermarket computer for this?

superchargers are ran off the engine belts or chains where as a turbo is ran through the exhaust gasses... supercharge is giving you extra power at idle and as soon as your foot goes down it forces extra air through a turbo has to spool up from the engine putting the gasses through...so you get a bit of lag...

Also superchargers put a lot more stress on your engine. Strengthened internals will be needed as well as lower compression and a computer to control it all.

Also, a supercharger is predictable, so the boost won't change with engine load due to incline or atmospheric conditions, etc...

I don't quite agree with your comment there Kaos. Some s/c setups have been know to operate safely with stock internals up to 9 PSI. E.G. MX5 rotrex kit can up the power by 50% to between 130-150kw if tuned. It would only be if you wanted to chase some big power that you'd need to change internals. I can vouch for an MX5 pulling 150rwkw on the rotrex kit on stock internals and it hauls ass. I don't see why a 20 couldn't pull the same numbers or close to as it puts out around the same power

The difference is that the FS has a higher compression ratio and weaker rods than a BP.

speaking of the twin charge system... THATS THE **** if i had the money and time i would so do it. its so damn worth it... cus u can run any boost u want on the turbo who cares about the spool time cus the SC will cover that. and then when the turbo spools up and is pushing 20+ the charger is d/c and ur flyiing. im pretty sure that VW EOS has a twin charge system. the plumbing is VERY interesting
