You need a breaker bar (at least 40cm) to be able to undo them. Also soaking overnight with the WD40 will help.

Cool, I don't suppose kmart would have a breaker bar? heh. cause they're open to midnight woooooo. haha. Man, the things that excite you when you live in a town where everything except one petrol station, takeaway and coles, closes at 5 :|

i had to borrow my mates 600ft-lb rattlegun for a few bolts, if you know anyone with a compressor and gun that may be worth a try if a breaker bar doesnt give you any satisfaction.

you cannot use a socket set on these.

as they have a allen key that has to go on the inside of the bolt shaft to stop it rotating. and use a spanner on the outside nut. otherwise it'll all just keep spinning 360.

the bolt is attached to a ball inside the cup on end end of the bar on the sway bar end link. it is designed to rotate freely inside the cup. hence why it has the allen key shaft for removal.

i normally just hook 2 spanners together to gain extra leverage.

Looking at wiring up some footwell leds/neons to something like this
eBay dimmer

If I was to wire this up to an always on power source would it drain the battery? (if it was set to off)

Otherwise I'll wire it up to an accessories/on power source.

Or if I wired the neons to a simple on off switch that wouldn't use any power once the circuit is broken right?

You are absolutely right I sure did need an allen key- totally missed that as the hole was jammed full of gunk. Three bolts were seized & ended up using a socket & superdooper leverage pipe to break the seizure. such a pita.

Hah, it's all a combo of just not knowing the right words and terms for junk and stuff, and being a tiny bit rejuvenile

Its not the lack to tech terms (i dont know many myself) its purely the way you structure your posts and the language. Like "superdooper leverage pipe" that makes me laugh/smile.

I dont mean it in a negative way at all

No problem. I'm just about to replace mine also. I'm gonna assume the front ones on mine are seized, as they have never been touched since new.

The rears have been removed multiple times for coilover or sway bar installs.

I have on many occassions called things, "thingos" as I don't really know most of the terms/names too. Superdooper is a very 80s term. Kat X must be a child of the 80s.

'superdooper leverage pipe' I call my long piece of pipe a 'Torque multiplier' but it's still just a pit of old exhaust pipe

do bjs have anything else holding the steering wheel in besides a big bolt in the middle? My mate said that some newer cars have little star screws that need to be removed too before the wheel can come out... He was talkin about an s15.

on/off switch is best bet as far as if u get into trouble with the popo
constant power or accessories doesnt matter.
i wired mine to constant power
i wired my friends to accessories.
in hindsight constant power is a bugger because you MUST REMEMBER to turn them off when you leave the car. a set of LED's isn't realistically going to drain your battery, but best to be safe.

"carby cleaner", spray can or can be liquid form which u hook onto one of the vacuum hoses and it sucks itself in i think...

As far as I know being a Subaru pruduct then it's only from Subaru. I believe it's different from carby cleaner. Twenty bucks every 10,000km isn't too bad IMO.
