How much for a service...
hey guys.
My car is up for a service, it needs it 80,000K service done (well over that but oh well...) and was just wondering how much would like ultratune or the like charge for a service. I have little knowledge in this area as this is my first service since acquiring this car and is a little different than spending like $20 to give my old gem a service when it needed one..... I live in ippy if anyone is interested. Marc |

use a local mechanic. stay clear of ultratune imo. but really, u can do the 80K service yourself. the main thing is to change the oil and oil filter, clean out the air filter/replace, clean/replace spark plugs, rotate tyres, check for leaks/broken hoses/exhaust system is intact, check suspension under the car for any loose bolts, etc, check the lights are all working + interior controls are in working order, check battery, radiator, coolant, brake, power steering & windscreen washer fluids are topped up, adjust the clutch if it's a manual. and that's about it. really the oil is the only bugger of it, but if u were servicing a gemini b4, then the SP20 shouldn't be 2 hard. it's the 100K service that, if u want, can be sent to a mechanic.

ultra tune is a franchised company
some are good some are bad. just like every workshop 80,000km service is a major you need oil and filter change coolant change brake fluid change new spark plugs new air cleaner Gearbox oil needs to be replaced general check over of everything else Mazda should charge about $400-450 for this service Rob

I would recommend going to your mazda dealership and asking for a printout and estimate on the cost for servicing at 80thou km's.. i've done this in the past with no worries.

For a car new to you a mechanic probably should do the job. If they tell you that the car has problems then ask them for a quote and take the quote to the place of purchase for it to be done under warenty
