Annoying Park Brake Light

For about the last month or two my park brake light on the dash beside the temp and fuel gauges is lit up constatntly. I thought it was the switch on the actual park brake but didn't have time to check it out. Finally got time today to fix the issue but the switch is fine, ie not sticking at all and making contact. Anyone got any ideas why this is happening other than me pulling the wire out to find the issue.

Cheers Jarrod

The light does double duties, check your brake fluid.
If that's low check your brake pads.

Thanks Cosmo solved the problem. The brake fluid was right on the low level line. You think the last service would've picked that one up. Oh well all fixed now.

Cheers Jarrod

yip it does that when my brake fluid goes low in the reservoir bottle, simply fill up and start the car and sorted

normally a leak from the clutch master is the main cause for this. have a look for fuild or rust where you clutch pedal is up and under the dash. dead givaway if there is a leak.

yes most often its the leak from the clutch master that causes a loss of brak fluid, I eventually had to change the plunger on the clutch pedal which was leaking brake fluid in to the drivers foot/pedal area
