99' Astina in Wollongong
Hey guys the names Matt,
I bought my first car back in April this year. It wasnt what i first planned on getting, however i have come to really love the car and will definitely be keeping it until i get my Blacks (maybe even longer!). I ended up buying a Dark Green 1999 BJI Astina (1.8L model). It still remains fairly stock however i had added a CatBack exhuast and cheapish sound system. Got a couple of ideas for modifying but as im still at school and my part-time job only earns minimal, im stuck with mainly cheap little DIY jobs i can find/buy off eBay. Ive already met/talked to a couple of guys from the site and seem really nice, and answer the hundreds of questions i ask without fail. Hopefully i can find some cheap stuff people are selling, so slowly personalise my car Pictures will be posted up soon. Matt |

Hey Hammo,
Just checked out your build thread (as Andy suggested), such a sweet ride! Im looking at getting a better suspension setup, although funds are limited. Whats your thoughts on the rear sway bar? Worth the money? If i end up buying a strut brace aswell, probably only get front done. Would that be worth purchasing aswell? Or in your opinion the swaybar would do a decent job itself? Cheers Matt #9 haha |

Hammo is still running a stock rear sway bar currently (his is on order)
I did each of my suspension upgrade step by stap. First was new shocks and lowered springs. Then front strut brace, then rear swaybar, then rear strut brace, then AAC adjustable end links, then LCA brace. Best improvement (if your shocks are in good nick) is swaybar and front strut brace. Would recommend both. They really do compliment each other.

yeah my sway bar will be fitted in a couple weeks when i get it currently shopping around for endlinks now, basicly what BG1.8sp said.
After going for a ride around in his on the weekend im keen to spend even more money on a LCA brace and Perry Muffler his suspension setup realy well Dont worry you are special Last edited by Hammo; 11-11-2012 at 09:52 PM. |

welcome to AGT and the rear sway bar on it's own will make a noticeable difference mainly when cornering.
