how large is the staple? is it protruding from the barrel? If so, grab some pointy nosed pliers and pull it out

It is not a staple you can see the lock flap spring remove the door trim and take clips off lock remove from door pop silver top cover off lock clean lock out - if you need to remove barrel take circlip off back of lock and remove barrel.

hammer. :P
na take ur door trim off. you will see a plastic sheet there that protect the eletric inside the doo from gettin wet. peel it back and go hunting 4 the lock. u will see it in the top left corner of the door (if its the passanger side door). there will be some bar's or links that go from the door handle to it or from the actuator motor. remember where they go and then remove them. there will be a locking ring from memory that holds the barrel in place. undo that and bobs ur uncle. its out. this is how i fixed my bg when some tryed to break into it, and i needed to replace the barrel
