all I can say is the pies can go and suck up a bus Go the saints

as for the GREATEST GAME IN THE WORLD, a game played by other countries not just one state and few odd places in one country. Australian VFL team who do they play again?

but as for NRL players, When stupid young females come on to raging males, what do you expect. When it does not happen everyone thinks they can be un-human and not well have a feel ?

but end of the day it's true NRL players or rugby league players we drink we get smashed and then we smash each other. sometime in the IAN roberts way as well.

but end of it all GO THE ROOSTERS YEAH. grand final time baby

rod you know jack **** afl is played in **** loads of other countries...players get drafted from the US, Canada, pacific islands, africa...

a stat that always amazed me was, in canada they have more kids in auskick than we do over here, and it wasnt a small amount over it was like 1.5x or 2x as many as we do...and its our national sport...

i dont really think you can claim AFL to be the national sport
its pretty much spilt between NRL, AFL and cricet
also rugby and cricet are what we are known for around the world
so they are our international sport besides swimming
also there isnt many AFL supporters outside victoria, only in areas of northern NT
but im like marcs never liked AFL and ive never followed it

bring on the NRL finals GO THE DRAGONS!!!!

look at crowd figures for standard season games & also finals season...you will notice who has a bigger supporting even in queensland and new south wales, where it is supposebdly mainly NRL supporters...i saw last night at suncorp there was 40,000-45,000 in the crowd a usual afl season game has 35,000-45,000 and finals last weekend at the MCG was over 90,000

Look when oyu have a world wide competition - come see me. When you see decent players/ Teams play each other then it's World game. Maybe not like REAL FOOTBALL aka soccer.

but as for crowds I get it. the pies got 18,000 to training day.

we would be lucky in NSW to get that. But 2 reason I see it like that.

AFL is great live in fact it's better at the MCG to see live then it is on camera. I've gone to both MSG and SCG games to see Swans play and 2005 grand final.
Much better in person.

On the other hand NRL is 100times better on TV. It's perfect TV sport. Maily just due to camera angles.

Which leads to 1 reason why NRL don't have massive crowds, why bother going out at night when you can at home on 60 inch plasma and watch it all in comfort.

At the ground it's moslty attmosphere and you get scream at the ref - hug a few guys when you score etc.

The other big reason we don't get crowds is only when it matters do Sydney people come out. Queenslanders do it better, but they can - what do they do up there ? Reason I go up to Rockhampton and Harvey bay for holidays aint' because I got businees in the area No, it's Peaceful, they are slower paced - don't care for much.

I know guys with season tickets to clubs and they won't see there team becuase the WIFE,GF or the JOB gets in the way. I don't go due to track days every now and then.

Swans are lucky they don't play each week. When the western Sydney laughing Clowns come in they will stuggle to get more then 20,000 or close to without free tickets.

Melbourne knowns how to go Grandfinal mad it's great place to be at that time of year.
In Sydney It only really effects us the Day before - because then we are all like - Oh yeah What you doing BBQ - watch it here - year go there Yeah.
I got invited to Rooster Training., Yeah I'm going to drop a $350 a day to go see players train ????? I go down the road in the off season I can have drink with them at Bondi.

That whole thinking is just something that will never happen in Sydney, We care too much for the Money our Jobs, we don't care too much about that side of life.
It's just the way it is.
