Arrow DIY CAI for a BJ? were do i start?

ok guys,
im thinking of making up a cai for my car, i have no idea exactly what to do...
i want it to remain legal (so the filter has to be covered) andi bought a k&N high flow panel filter a year ago, so ifi can re use that it would be good, other than that im very keen to know what other members have done, and what i should do for best performance....
i did a search and no other threads seemed the same. sorry if its a re-post.
thanks guys.

easiest option would be to swap the plastic corrigated stuff to smooth aluminium pipe, then get more air to the stock air box through pipework.

I took off the stock intake system up until the airbox and dropped a k&n panel in there. Then put flexi pipe from the old hole leading to underneath the car angling to the front slightly as it pops out below. It Improved throttle response nicely and I couldn't see it being illegal.

my mate did something a little different, he did it to his ford, but the idea is still the same,

he dropped in a k&n panel filter, to replace the stock one, still kept the original intake, but also added a CAI. he cut a hole in the bottom of the filter box, ran a pipe (i don't know what type of pipe) to the front same as brenno_bj said.

I looked at it, but I can't figure out where the filter will end up sitting. If its still in the engine bay, it would be pretty useless. I have also heard that carmate are a nightmare to deal with, but have never used them myself.

Send a message via MSN to platypus
injen will send to australia, but ground shipping is your cheapest option.

it will cost you a lot of cash!

look up mazda protege, chance's are they would have one listed.. Honestly dude, everyone is getting sick and tired of spoon feeding you info, i mean its not just this site that has info on 323's/laser's, check out www.mazdas247.com in the states, thats where the majority info will be as they're mad about these car's!
