mechanics actully recommend using about a 75% manual trans fluid and 25% auto trans fluid...for a smoother gear change...

is that for the benefit of the box or to benefit you if you are selling a car with a not a 100% BOX. it sounds a bit dodgy but on the other hand it actually makes sense.
What will happen if that box gets really pushed and starts reaching some crazy temparatures.

head over to a mazda and get some for like $10 for all of them. it made a big difference to the feel of my box, tighter, less sloppy.

scrap the garden hose, you can buy those bushes from mazda. all you need is a new bolt

ok i am pretty muck finished i got the reverse lights hooked up easy as today using the old auto wiring loom and shortened my shifter and fitted it with bushes so now it feels perfect now.
i did do one sort of bad thing though i cut off the stay bar and welded the top and bottom half's of the assembaly togeather a: cus the rubber mount in it was screwed and B: cus the stud for the stay bar was snapped off the gear box and an unremoveable piece was left in there so yeah the shifter assembly is now just bolted in through the center console, WHAT IS the purpose of the stay bar anyway cus i don't see any problem with this mod at all no vibration, looseness or anything.

i used 2 wires from the auto loom by looking at the book and fonding out wat wires on the inhibiter switch run wat, on the big black plug i used the orange/black wire and on the smaller white plug i used the thin red/ black wire and the wires from the manual reverse switch use the same colours so i joined them togeather with a matching plug and it worked

wats the average price for a sohc head recon kit? cus my valve seals are shot and i am thinking on doin it on friday or is it cheaper to just get a dohc head in half decent condition and slap it on cuz i would love that but then i still need the head gasket AAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!.(damn money shortage)
also is it absolutly compleetly nessesary to machine the flywheel when doing a clutch change cus while i am doin the swap i will have no transport at all to go get it done. am doin all this on friday exedy clutch kit front & rear crank seal's driveshaft seal's sump gasket goo job and maybe a head rebuild if i can afford it.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$>( >(

thats a lot of work for just one day. anyway you should have it machined to remove any imperfections etc cause by un-even wearing. bacially you want a smooth perfect surface for the new clutch to bite on.
note i said 'should', you don't have to but its recommended.
