Tint levels... hmmm
Hey, i'm thinking of putting my tax money into a decent tinting. What do you think would suit best a sp20... i was thinking either 15 or 20 ... not sure... ideas?
kind of want to do 15% but dont want it to be too dark.

Just be careful and don't exceed the legal limit as you will get fined.

I've got 18%, as above it's dark from the outside and perfectly visible at night from the inside.
Another bonus is that at night the headlights (HIDs in particular) from the cars behind you aren't in your rear view mirror as much. |

whats the legal level - thought it was around 35 but not sure!
edit: i was right! 35% is the darkest legal but be warned most glass is already tinted from factory so if it blocks out say, 10% of the light (eg a 90% film) then adding a 35% over that will result in a technically ILLEGAL tint... so probably 40% tint would be the darkest legal but ive never heard of people being done for anything under 25%.

Cars made before 1994 have no legal limit.
Cars after 1994, the legal limit is 35%. |

i have had the "darkest" legal tint put on (35%) but when the guy did the check after to show me how dark it was with a little light meter around the window.. lets just say the factory tint was about 5%
also it looks very dark from outside, and does not obstruct vision whatsoever at night. makes driving during the day more pleasant cus it blocks a fair amount of sun as well |

so 35 is decent, well if thats the legal, then i guess thats it.
Price, quality wise and in Sydney anywhere worth getting it done? (any know mobile workers, would be lot better)

does the stock sp20 come with tinted windows? the lady asked me (because if it does they have to remove it = extra $ ) and i really can't tell or if the glass is just a darker colour.
