The best i've done is just over 500km, i've got the V6 too. This was during the Xmas period when a lot of people were on holidays and the roads were less congested + i'm driving at 6am to work so less traffic again.
I think if you spend the money on your current BJII hatch you could have a car better than the stock SP20, for close to the difference in price u'd pay. i've never driven the 1.6, how much power difference is there between the 2? Brad |

I just got 654km to the orange light coming back from Sydney, I think there is 10L left at that stage? I'm of the opinion the 1.6 goes best with a HiBoost turbo, even with severe NA mods it'll be well short of a moderately modded 1.8 or 2.0, although slightly shorter gearing helps it's cause quite a bit.

I remember getting 650km out of a tank when I drove from Sydney to Canberra and back in Nov - and this was only FWY driving. I must admit, the orange light was on for awhile until I got a bit worried and filled it up (filling 49L!). Gav, i think you're about right with the orange light coming on at 10L. They say it's roughly another 100km you can get, from when the light goes on. Of course i'm yet to test this, and plan not to either!! However, I'm going to try ur suggestion of a full tank of Caltex Vortex and see how much more i can get. Next trip: to Brisbane or Canberra?
