Only on the hatch. The hardtop is the same all the way through (except for the HID version maybe).

$30-$450. HIDs will only make what you see brighter. If you are having viewing distance issues, then maybe adjusting the height of the beam would be your first step.

It's not so much the distance it's the fact they're very dim.
Even when I put high beams on people don't seem to notice much difference.
Where can I buy decent one that aren't going to break on me...
Will probably give my headlights a good clean too.
I remember few years ago getting just the globes from Autobarn and they burned out on me within 2 weeks.

I've been using a $32 set from ebay HK for the past nine months. Don't buy anything other than 4300K.

+1 I bought a set from eBay. $30.
6000k in all my cars, but if you want to keep safe 4300k is the way to keep out of trouble.

This is not good huh...

Will 43k be a substantial difference from my stock lights then?
How do I match my fog lights, parkers and high beams?
94 model s1 hatch
Could anyone be so kind and link me to a 'genuine' looking eBay link, not much exp with this. Would be much appreciated.

eI run 6000k in all mine and never ever had an issue in over 3 years of daily driving with lights on 95% of the time.

Just search H3 HID kit. That will be low beam and youll need another for high beam.
(May be H1, can anyone confirm?)

For parkers just buy LED park globes. T10 WEDGE. I bought a 10 pack of these for $2.

Do my eyes deceive me?? another member from Penrith with a BJ? Wooooo!
lol

With regards to light sizes... refer to the stickied post in the Interior and Lighting section... "list of BJ globes"
I have compiled a full list of BJ lights (all lights)
and Himynameisbunny also has got a list of BA lights in there too

4300k has the greatest light output and is an OEM colour.
Yellowish white.
Provides good all light and all wether visibility.
Tends not to draw as much unwanted attention like 6K and 8k lol
Basically the best all rounder colour and highest light output.

H1 and 55W... they for highbeams?
what car are they for?

If they are for high beam. Those cheap ballasts take about 20seconds to get the globe to full brightness. So pretty useless for high beam unless you have them on for extended periods of time.
You get what you pay for with HID's basically.

As I realise now... if you cant afford projectors and/ or good ballasts... then you are just better off to get a good pair of phillips or Osram globes.

Oh sorry - They are for my BA astina low beams, so H3.

I was looking at the JayCar kit but they look like they are only 6000K, hmm.

Thanks!

Oh ok... well since they are already projectors... HID kit isnt so bad. So long as you make sure they are aligned properely.
honestlt dont think there is much difference between the jaycar kits and the ebay ones.
if warm up time isnt an issue ... then ebay ones are ok.

Otherwise... if you want a quick warm up but not fork out $600 for phillips units, then go to theretrofitsource.com and get some morimoto ones. They are a good medium
