www.findapart.com.au

Came across this website while i was trying to find parts for my bg astina while i'm in europe and stumbled across this website.

http://www.findapart.com.au/mazda_parts.php

Apparently you just enter the parts your after and they do the work of tracking down suppliers - which is good for me. I can *hopefully* have all the parts i need for when i get back to sydney.

i haven't used the service yet as i'm waiting for someone to get the exact details for my car.

Itd be awesome if wreckers catalogued there parts and had a running national database however due to the nature of a wrecker the effectiveness or rather the man power involved to initially setup this sort of thing would be immense and cost wise be a poor investment over the short time, even long term it could prove to be unwise.

Thus this site along with a few others i think are more like ad agencies where wreckers place parts on there for sale that they perhaps cant get rid of? I doubt it actually searches through a index of parts available at wreckers around aus due to the afore mentioned reason.

as a test i put an enquiry in for a part for my bike. Apparently, the way it works is they have a list of wreckers and they select the ones which match your enquiry. it sends an email to each of the wreckers with the parts that your after and if they have the parts, they'll reply via email/phone with a quote. For someone like me who's oversea's working at the moment, it's much easier to organise spares etc via websites such as this one than it is via phone as it's the middle of the day here but probably the middle of the night over there.
