New to astinaGT

Hi All

Been looking around for dedicated SP20 forums for some time and finally found some! oh the wonders of the internet

Bought myself an '03 protege sp20 in june last year (pics here).

Am i gonna get flamed in here for having a protege instead of an Astina? in my opinion, they are just as good as each other. Im not the greatest fan of hatchbacks, but astina looks good. I see alot more astina's around perth than protege's though.

Will be looking for car cruises etc around perth aswell, I'll make a showing as long as protege is ok :P

First off, welcome! Hope you enjoy the site. And don't worry about getting flamed for owning a Protege, some people on these boards don't even own a Mazda, let alone an Astina.

Some friendly ribbing maybe, but certainly no flaming here!!!!!

Flames are not welcome!

And Kings Park is a strange place to live!! Nothing but Botanical Gardens there, I used to live in West Perth, Leederville, Como, Sth Perth, Vic Park and good ole Scarborough to name a few.

WA r0><0rs

So tell us more about your car? What mods have you done?

wow! a friendly bunch of people

As of yet, i havent done anything as the car is about 8 months from new. I dont want to possibly void warranty, but i do want to do stuff to it. So far, its completely stock.

I do plan on maybe lowering, exhaust, air filter

MrPayner: im relatively new, what are the clear side markers? got any pics of examples?

KittyKatSmack: i live about 200m from the main entrance to kings park. When people ask me where i live, i tell them perth and they dont believe me. then i say kings park and they understand. sort of stuck with me! its in a hotel there, fairly budget but good enough for me. I used to live in mt lawley and belmont too.

We are the friendliest lot around!!!

I used to live on fourth ave in Mt Lawley!!!

And I used to go shopping at Belmont Plaza... although I wouldn't admit that, LOL!!!

But I do know the entrance to Kings Park that you are talking about!

I remember watching the fireworks on New Years Eve from Kings Park, the best view of all the torches on the north and south banks of the Swan!

ahhh, now I'm gonna have to visit WA again.... am getting homesick, LOL

Does Northbridge still go off? I loved living in Leederville and West Perth!
Vic Park was ok, but too far to stagger home hee hee hee!

Kings Park does have some advantages. There would be one or two small Marijuana plantations hidden there, not mine...

Good to see another Perth mazda owner. Welcome to AstinaGT slothy.

And Kitty, I have some friends that lived in third ave. They didn't like it so they made the big move all the way to fourth ave. Much better location.

Hey there,
Welcome!!

Side indicators, look at your day.jpg, see they are Orange, (On the side panel, not the ones in the headlights) notice on the image above, when not blinking, they look white/clear.

Hope that makes sense

Hillarys???

I nearly bought a house in Craigie!

I lived in 2/2a Fourth Ave
right opposite the railway track, although I could never work out why they were 2a, they are a huge apartment complex

I think everyone has lived in the bodgy apartments in 7th ave and 10th ave though, not me, hahahahahaha!

And the side indicators are the ones that are sorta between the front wheel and the front door on the front quarter panel... if you look on Sabrelli's pic, they are on the far left hand side.... yours will be an amber lens with a clear globe, on ours (coz we are so cool, lol) we have a clear lens with amber globe.

It is one of the cheap things you can look for on any Astina to look for rice, that and the wheels, the zorst, the lowering and the sound of the doof doof..... *drools over Critters stereo*

But don't forget the stickers!!!!
Each sticker is 10kw moite!!!
And if you buy an astinagt.com sticker for a mere $22, it goes on your FRONT windscreen, and not the rear window........

Right Critter? Right JJ? Don't listen to them others, the front windshield is best!!!
