What Project.R said. My speedo is 10k lower than the actual speed I'm doing, but the tacho is fine, just has the 6000rpm redline on the gauge when really I can go to 7000rpm.

Is there a way to make the tach compatible? Any work around?
you could use the BP26 GTX ECU also if you're running a turbo

that can be corrected with the correct speedometer gear, if available

otherwise, a cable corrector box can be purchased

It seems like aftermarket is the way to go since a gtx ecu is hard to find in our area.

Speaking of aftermaket, 360 infinite usa heads up display seems like a very interesting option for me.
How would I know that the aftermarket tach and speedo I'm getting is compatible?

I attempted to have an aftermarket tach installed but it didn't work. The installer said that the DEFI tach doesn't seem to pick up the signal from the coil.

Help!?!

Is there some kind of tach adapter that can convert mazda coil signals to make the stock tach or afterket tachs work?

As I found out when installing my SAFC, there is no loom wire for RPM. There are a ton of places you can take that signal from though. I'm running my tach signal off the negative pole of my coil. You can also take it from the diagnostic plug which is back in the engine bay and leaves less wiring to be seen.

We attempted to get it from the Megasquirt 3 ECU but never figured it out. I'm looking for a more convenient option. I've been winning races with it but I keep breaking my axles during first gear launches.

Any ideas?

Thanks Derb! I'll check with my electrician if they tried that and keep you posted.

We have this issue too!
It's because the stock tach is expecting a high level input and the new aftermarket ecu only gives a low level output. The stock tach should be able to be modified to accept a low level signal input but im yet to work out which resistor needs to be bypassed! Or as other members have suggested, take the signal from else where such as the coil

We tried getting it from the coil and it didn't work. I'll look forward to the resistor resolution.
Any other ideas?

We sorted ours by running a wire from the negative side of the coil to the tachometer
