Hey Riceboy,

Are those Hyperblacks on the rear? Nice to see some BJIs getting around looking better than average.

Good job,
Gav.

mexican windows and mirrors

most cars in the astina/protege category, came with power options, except for those on the 1.6

1.6 is good for me, coz its better that i smash a cheaper car up

the mesh i just installed straight over the top of the existing grill

jigsaw?? are you insane?? i dunno about your jigsaw, but mine is funny with aluminium!!!

i took the original grill out - like riceboy did
then i laid it on the mesh sheet, and cut around it so it could all bend over the original piece, trimmed it totally with tin snips, and reinstalled it on the car...

as to the lower section it was a pain in the arse.. i had to do the same style on the mid piece, and then placed it into the gaps of the bumper....

then on went the fog covers from behind - these had to be forced into place

the fog lights are just rounds, which i cut the plastic in the grill to fit

lol nah man jigsaws are fine for cutting ally, just as though you have the appropriate blades.

But yeh that makes sense how you've done it...but wasnt rather tight to fit back on with the mesh wrapped around the sides?

I tried pulling out the top grill a while ago but it seemed like there were fixing points I couldnt reach unless I pulled the bumper off? Like I removed the screws and nylon plugs but it wouldnt come off, is there a trick to it?

as for the bottom grill I got gp cars to mesh it for $100 including material, the top grill has always looked outta place since

yeah there is some hidden clips between the grill and the bumber
there are also some bitch clips on the top chrome section

once you get it all of its pretty good... Aluminum is pretty maluble, meaning i could hammer it flat to make the tight fit a small issue
