AstinaGT the shirt?

So now we have some proper momentum going in this place....despite not nearly enough stickers on cars *cough*.......

I reckon we might look at a club shirt.

IMO the T shirt thing has been done to death and Astinas deserve better than that.

Short sleeved button shirt or a polo?

Whaddya think?

Something with a collar and an embroided logo would be good. Just not purple (sorry you know who  )

sounds like a good idea you realize to have an imbioded pattern done it can cost at least $80 for a small basic design an it goes up from there depending on size and design

once you have the first one done it remains on the computer so you can then print as many as you like at a much reduced price

lets say shirt $20

pattern $100

thats the first one then after that you can probly do them for about $30-$35 each

Have no fear fella's (and girls)

We will be trying to get something sorted for ya's soon enough......

But by all means keep the ideas coming!!!

AND

if anyone wants to be creative...... I want to do something fresh with the design graphic!

Do we have any budding artists or designers that are willing to throw around some ideas?

I am looking at something a bit classy, and it does cost money for the initial set up of embroidery work.
That said, embroidery on GOOD QUALITY shirts (not $20 shirts) means they last a lot longer, don't stretch or shrink or fade.
The first run will probably have a higher cost due to the set up costs, but any future runs will be cheaper.
I will be trying to get a job lot done with another run of Ausmicro shirts, but the discount will only apply to the shirt buy, and not the setup fee's.

But before any of this other stuff can happen, a new design is needed.

So, a call is going out to find something advertises the club, but makes it more UNIQUE and makes it STAND APART from all the rest!!

The name AstinaGT.com still stands, we want to promote the website and the forum, but we want to change it from looking like a basic Mazda based club, and we want it to look like something individual and something OUT OF THE ORDINARY.... something as beautiful and distinctive as each and every car is that you own....

So.....

Put your thinking caps on, get creative, and see what you can do to the ASTINAGT.COM logo to make it bigger and better than "zoom zoom"

If you need to email me any graphics, send to kks@ausmicro.com
I can host good graphics, and the floor will be thrown open until mid year for any and all comers to come up with ideas.
A poll will decide the top 10, and from that Tony and I will decide the winner, who will get a free shirt!

The judges decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into, LOL.

So c'mon everyone, bring out your best and show us what you've got!!!!

you know what I mean!

I'm guessing the setup cost would increase the more colours are involved, is their a limit. The design would need to be a little timeless as well due to the evolving nature of cars.

It's not so much the colours but more how many stitches are involved.. so obviously the bigger the logo the greater the cost.

Personally I just wanted something that is stylised.. I'd be happy with a 7-9cm logo as a crest on the front of a good quality shirt. I'd be more inclined to get an interlock cotton polo shirt over the"normal" style polo as it looks a bit more professional and classy.

I have an acquantance in the embroidery industry.. I might ask if she can do us a favour..

Hey, this sounds good. Very interested in a shirt and cap.

I have one idea. why not have the astinagt.com logo and then have both model BA astinas either side of it and the sp20 in the middle with the astinagt.com going throught the middle of them. Just an idea and ill try to draw it up for you. But obviously just have an outline of the cars with as little detail as possible.

It's also the colours too.....

find out if you like Adam, but whether she can do us a favour or not, it would mean all the AstinaGT business would have to go through her, and I am keen to do all the business through the people that have looked after http://www.ausmicro.com

First shirt off the rack ladies and gentlemen....

Well done to Chris!!!

One thing though, I want to change the font of the word Astina......

is a long winded reason why, but can everyone keep that in mind for future designs?

Avoid using anything that looks like it was on a Mazda!

Cheers and well done again Chris!!!

The reason for changing the font is due to Mazda having a trademark on that exact image and Tony doesnt feel like fighting law suits about it. They also have a trademark on the word "Astina" so ur screwed either way.

Somthing simple like the logo on the left breast and then across the shoulders on the back. White shirt with the std logo. Simple. Easy. Cheap.

Im not down with having pics of other peoples cars all over my ****.

Maybe have your licence plate on the breast instead of the logo.

Mmkay.. I went to the embroidery place here in ballarat.. for a simple logo that's 7½cm wide and about 9-10mm high [like the one at the top of this page] you're looking at a digitaizing fee of roughly $44, then we've got it for life basically.. To get the logo on stuff you're looking at about $10 embroidery costs. I also got a couple of brochures on Shirts and hats. I'll bring these on the next Melb cruise [8th Feb] so the other guys can have a looksie too.

As with my contact she actually lives in my old home town. I can find out what software that she uses on her machines as I found out what program they use here in Ballarat. Going by a design that I saw on the desk when I was at the shop it looks to be the same program as it's apparently one of the best in the industry.

I do like Jim's idea of having the simple AstinaGT.com logo on the left breast then having a number plate on the right breast.. That was along the lines of what I was thinking. For the logo across the shoulder blades on the back of the shirt that would cost a fair bit of money me thinks.. It would certainly push a shirt into the $60-$80 mark.

Oh.. i thought I'd thrown this in here too.. i was mucking around with this ages ago and thought about it again with this whole shirt / cap thing..

Keep some of those ideas flowing, but what we need to do is slightly change that font, and what I am after is maybe join all the letters together or something.....

Unfortunately I can't put the idea into electronic format atm, I don't have access to what I need to do it, but it won't take us long.

There are ways and means peoples.

Firstly though, we do not want to get into trouble with Mazda.
Secondly, we do not want to get Tony into any kind of trouble either.

So we must keep that in mind when thinking of our designs.

And I would prefer our nicks instead of our license plates personally........

Keep those brain cells ticking away, and we are bound to come up with something!

Cheers!
