Super spiral forced induction
Has anyone used these in there cars before? I'm thinking of getting two of them, 1 to put before my pod so more cold air passes through it and one after it so that cold air gets forced into my engine. if you dont know what they are here's a link to some http://broomfish.co.nz/index.php?cPa...79b34aac06907d
I can get 2 of trademe.co.nz for $40 would it be worth it tho?

they are a bit of a gimmick. some have been proven to work. most do not.

theres a company out of the states whicih actually make one which works. downside is that it draws something like 90A @ 12v (just over 1000W of electrical power, 1.4hp) and requires a large ass battery and alternator + heavy copper cabling to run it all. not to mention the noise! the cheap ones off ebay probably run a 550 sized motor which are about 500W peak for 3 seconds. so dont waste your money on a cheap plastic gimmick...

Yeah i've always thought that if something that cheap actually worked and made a difference then manufacturers would use them. Obviously they don't so it's just gonna be a waste of money.

The problem is not so much the motor power (although those eBay things are certainly far too weak to make a difference) but the turbine design. Most of those eBay ones have a geometry like a computer fan, which is fine for moving air around, but if you want boost you want a high static pressure, and not just a high volume of air movement. You can chuck as much power behind a fan like that as you like, it's still not going to compress any air.
