Twiggy cams
been doing heaps of looking around, and well typical no aftermarket support for these cars again
so whats the chances of these getting remade?? or the specs being put up so I can look in to getting a set made they sound unreal and I want them hahah.

Not a good cam for a turbo set up IIRC. AFAIK the MSF revised cams are the best for the turbo application.

Plenty of Turbo's Proteges in US run the turbo-spec cams with no more drama's over standard cams...
Best off PM'ing Twilight on here if he can remember specs

Search for Megacycle cams for the Protege. These are the profiles from Integral cams, which were based off the Twiggy cams.

What the engine plan ?
FP or FS ? If your going to go cam Might as well go all out on the head too. Don't port it too much it lacks meat in several area IMO if you start hammering it. Makes it hard to save if you get air pocket etc. Might as well rev the sucker 9 and beyond |

@Haighie, only reason I haven't pursued this further is my heads already assembled... Side note: Do you have any stock cam gears?

well I'd try to get the most out of it running least boost. The FS and FP 's were never built to be strong. Unlike the earlier F - engines which they used the same block for a Diesel - sorry they still use it. LOL
but you do save about 30KG I think or more. Plus a FS head is light as. I say give it the cams best turbo you can fit. Maybe even intake even if you have it extruded honed a 626 or equivalent. Better then trying to clamp down a head under ultra high boost. Then again Mitsubishi and Nissan owners in the past - O-ringed and cc'd 8 valve heads. |
