BP and BP16 differences?

Hi all,
I'm looking for any differences between the BP 1.8 engine and the smaller 1.6 found in ford lasers, i.e. dizzy, crank angle sensor etc.

I've currently got a BA hardtop but want swap in the smaller 1.6.

Reason for asking is I'm planning to build an engine for boost / possibly racing purposes and want to know what I'm in for as far as setting up Megasquirt is concerned.

The 1.6 would put me in a lower racing category which is the reason for the swap.

Thanks for any help

The 1.6 engine is a B6 engine.

The differences can be numerous as the B6 was in lasers and 323s from 87-98, and the BP in 90-98. The 87-89, 90-94, 94-96, 96-98 varients all have various arrays of differences.

Fair enough - I wonder if one of the later versions (94-98) of B6 is identical in configuration to the BP's. Maybe I should ask this at the fordlaser.com site. They have both engines in their cars.

Cheers for the response project.r. Also - I do want the window bushes for my BA but the link didn't work!
