Stainless Muffler

Need a new muffler for my car. My old one is shagged when
you turn up the bass the whole insides rattle you kick the muffler
and it will stop or change sound for a while. Also notice a big drop
in performance moreso now I have a new turbo on. Looking for
a single in - dual out setup same as I have now but in polished
stainless for a bit more image appeal. Always regretted not putting
a polished muffler on the car since putting on the 3" exhaust. Also
want to keep the deep sound I have over some of the other tinny
exhausts I have heard.
If anybody has any links, images or places that they know make them
I already have got a quote from that place that did my 3" $450 stainless
but unpolished.

Ta

Mal
p.s Do not even think of mentioning a Cannon muffler

Liverpool Exhaust - that's where I got my cannon from, and it was quite cheap. They did have a range of dual outs too.

Honestly dude, even though you said don't mention it, cannon would be the best way to go to get max flow out of your exhaust system, you'd be amazed how much difference it makes because the air doesn't have to be split, it turn less turbulance, less back pressure, MORE POWER!

But also, I guess when considering your looking at paying $450  for a muffler, you'd hope they have done their research on how to get max flow with a single in dual out.

you've got the new turbo on ?

i've been thinking fairly seriously of replacing my twin 5" tips with twin dual-exit tips. something like this on each side :

tho I do wonder how much back pressure an east-west muffler is creating ...

I think in more case's if you want better performance/quality you'll have to pay $$$. I've seen the difference between my $250 cat back and my mates $2000 exhaust. The welds a different and the pipe material seems better(i'm not a scientist and can't tell).

I think a cannon would be better, and i've heard Hi-tech mufflers are good.

remus make a twin exit for the BA. dunno if you could get one to fit though coz you obviously have a custom made exhaust.
i have a remus on my bg and it sounds superb, very subtle deep bassy kinda tone.

I couldn't be buggered holding a muffler up to a polishing machine for a
couple of hours.
Also I have a full 3" exhaust its just the muffler has worn out and needs
replacing. Trying to find a oval single in/dual out is actaully harder than
I thought. Searching on MR2 mufflers doesn't help. Hi-Tech dont make
a dual out in the right configuration will keep looking. Looking like a custom
jobbie again.

Go to kev at South Coast rotaries. The muffler I put on Dave's Turbo was fantastic. Thats just my oppinion cause I had 3 different mufflers on the car. Don't get lukey, don't get dynamax either. I dont know what brand he used but i loved the sound.

I cant remember the sound of yours. I am happy for Kev to do the work I just cant say that I
want the same sound as Miks or Jims. Mine has always had a deeper note to it which I love
looking for a similar or even deeper sound.

I didn't mean yours or Jims were noisy just the note is quite Tinny which I
dont like. I do want to be different again thats why this time would like to
spend a little more and get a polished one to make the ass look sweet as.

Spoke to Hi-Tech they want $680 for a stainless muffler he put my car on
the hoist and banged the muffler it doesn't have any loose bits he thinks
the increase in noise is from the glasspac wearing out over the years. So
it may be wearing out but its not restricting flow/Busted so I can change
plans and now look at doing my I/C and piping instead.

ive looked around
and apparntly the glass pack mufflers dont really do anything
cause the glass gets hot n packs together
there is apparntly ones with steel wool in them
which is much better as it dosent fuse
