I doubt the cracking would be a problem, especially since you were asking about a respray recently too. See if you can find other BG owners who have had theirs rolled and listen to their testimony.

Nate?

... thats me! ... most ppl wont do it because our rear gaurds are flat ... i had the same problem with mine but luckily enough the tyre show two minutes down the road is the place 323 mazdabator used to work for so he was willing ot do it for me... if the guy knows what he is doing he will be able to do it ... ppl that say know either cant do the job or are worried about having to fork out a couple of K for a new paint job.

To stop the paint cracking all they have to do is heat the paint using a heat gun (also softens the metal to some degree) this makes the paint plyable like rubber and will set rock hard without side effects if done properly ... if not done properly, the paint could crack (not hot enough) ... run (to hot) or bubble (hot hot hot!) but a pro will have had plenty of practice.

My advice ... ask the sydney bg owners who did there. i highly recommend robbie kings tyre and wheel solutions at brendale ... but driving 1000 klms seems a bit sily to have your gaurds rolled

hope that makes sense

i'd ask the place that sold you the wheels, or the place that installed the kings... if they can't do it, see if they know someone who does, or ask them for a refund,

under the trade practices act they have 3 options:

Repair
Replace
Refund
in that order...

the exact terming is fit for the purpose... which these clearly are not

why not just grind the gaurds down?
just try not to go past the spot welds.

where are the spot welds havent really had a close look. the problem occured wen i got new tyres and the side wall isnt curved as much as the last ones so it hits the guards, got tyres from differennt place then wheels and springs not goin back there i hate bob and toms. spoke to a place that has the guard roller and he said it will crack even if it is heated and rolled

it really does suck how alot of us are going through this or will go through this but as some people have identified its all to do with offsets. If you thinks your cars are bad you really need to hop in my mates late model laser it is terrible.

what width are your tyres?
i have 205 wide 17`s and have no problem with rubbing.
you must either have the wrong offset or 215 tyres.

no mcwilly is right ... i have 38mm offset and i never had a problem with my first set of rubber, but when my current rubber went one the wheels scubbed at the back something cronic ... both 205's ... just different brands

i have 215 tyres and it scrubs the smallest on the top outside edge, i think 205's would make a difference
