yah, that smoke u had was definetly burning oil
i'd say its the valve stem seals cos it was worse when u had
been idling for a while allowing oil to be sucked past the
seals under the vaccum the engine makes. If it was rings, it would
do it all the time. Maybe a bit of both?

if its oil burning it should be blue smoke....white smoke usually means water....which could mean headgasket if its blue then its oil and could also be head gasket or rings

i thought it was blue smoke i saw

edit: If it was white, which means coolant/water is burning, u should check your coolant tank and make sure the coolant is clean green (or red if u have red coolant) and not brown which could mean gasket probs.

if its white smoke it will most probly be your head gasket , check ur water level or even take off radiator cap with motor running must be hot if there are bubbles that is another sign

if its blue well can be rings or valve guides check how mucxh oil its losing

If it's blue when gunning the engine then it's rings (time to build the beast)
If it's blue only on startup then valve stem seals and that's fixable.

White and you have an appointment with a mechanic. While the head is off you may want to have some work done

well, i saw and smelt the oil burning from behind u, it was also evident on some of your downshifts as well...which points to stem seals again i think

You'll know if your cat fails.

Mine died not long after i went turbo. A BIIIIIIIG white cloud of poisonous smoke out the back. Not just the occasional puff.

ok the other day when i took off it blew some smoke, and i wasnt giving it any.(slow/normal take off)and when this happens i can smell petrol...plus i changed the oil n filter friday too. so im thinking its not too do with the oil,n also topped up my coolant with water the other day, still green. so i put some more fuel in after it was blowing smoke and im either not get any come out yet,or not as much.(its hard to see how much comes out while driving) im thinking maybe rings in injectors? got injectors clean n new rings couple months ago though.also guess it might be some bad fuel?.....

i still reckon its valve stem seals...what thickness oil did u put in? if its lighter than what u had before it may be able to seep past the seals and therefore burn off...Try idling the car for a while and then accelerate to prove me right or wrong, if smoke appears then its probably that...otherwise ill just shut my mouth :P heh

Thick white smoke can be brake fluid being sucked from the power brake cos the cylinder is leaking oil into it......

Cats won't inhibit flames, you've got to be running rich to make flames
