SP23 MPS VS Ford Focus XR5 turbo

What do you guys think?

184kw/380Nm for the SP23(2.3L 4 cylinders turbo) MPS and 166kw/320Nm kw for the XR5(2.5L 5 cylinders turbo) turbo!!!
Ford sucks!!!

i'd go with a 5 cyl - the way this is set up is to be most comparable to a v6 but with a much better efficiency - common for european cars for years

No, Ovlov sucks as the Ford uses a Volvo engine.

But there's a lot more aftermarket stuff around for the Volvo engine atm, and they're good for a lot more power

I would buy the mazda if I had the money. I dont really trust ford....the straight five turbo could be modified to produce more power though!
which one do you guys reckon would be a faster car and handle better stock?

focus is likely to have the best handling, going on what has been said of past versions of the car...the problem with it is the looks and the interior quality are both not so good. oh and there is the ford brand image problem also.

I'd say they'd be pretty similar as they both (and the Volvo S series) all use the same chassis.

but yes, seat of the pant's is the only way to tell

gimme a vxr :P

the fact the fords engine is plastic (yea yea, it does have its benefits, but still looks dodge) would put me off...

if the mps came in a sedan i would get it...not a fan of the 3 hatch...

if you saw the VXR on top gear I think you would be avoiding it

it may have more power, but has trouble getting it to the ground

whats the good of having all the power if you can't use it

I'd suffer the lower power and go for the golf GTI.

3 does not really do it for me, I like the focus but when it came time to hand over the money I dont think I could get a ford, and holden is similar, but worse.

Well, if it was my choice, im having a Megane 225 cup. Looks great, apparently now handles great and can put its power to the ground properly....i wonder about the ability of the 3mps to do this with all that torque.

Looks great ?!!?!??!

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But then again i think the majority of french cars are ugly.

To me the Megane is FUGly, it can't decide whether it's boot is round or square, I just wish it was one or the other and be done with it so it's looks weren't as objectionable. Add to the mix that most french cars have Z grade electronics in this country for some reason. I hear mostly bad reports from Renault and Peugeot owner's, but I understand Citreon are dodgey in some ways too...
