V6 modifications wanted

Hi all

I have a 1996 astina with the 2L v6. The rear of the exhaust is a Remus that apparently is for sound only not performance (sounds great too) and I have a flat panel air filter. I am after some other suggestions for power increase and what some of these might cost. The v6 only puts out about 105kW and I wouldn't mind a bit more. Will cold air injection help much? The set up seems pretty good as it is with the BA. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Cheers

Paul

when upgrading intake your exhaust needs to be upgraded, you will just restrict the flow if you get good intake but not as good outlet. from memory boosted batman has a set of exhaust for the BA v6 i think it was the hardtop though. contact him to see.

Pete only has extractors so a cat and exhaust will need to be made up,
but they are are oh so shiny and purty looking,
Say $1000+ installed???

I personally got some benefit from changing the leads and spark plugs to better ones but weather that was because my old ones were shot I dunno, but improvement was there.
$200 install yourself.

Intake,
Just get a better (ie k&n) panel filter, pods are supposedly better but unless you are going all out not worth the extra hassle of heatsheilds/defect issue etc,
$100-150 me thinks

KLZE,
engine swap $5000, plenty to read about it if you search.

Super charger has been talked about, $4000

Whats you budget roughly?

Yeah I have a set of extractors for the v6 (Hatch or Hardtop)
One of the first mods I would perform on the KF is a Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator (RRFPR)
The v6 engine sueers fuel issues to the injectors and the RRFPR will make more fuel available to the injectors that need it
Plugs and leads will make the engine smoother but wont make more power

Its easier to give us a budget or tell us how mild or wild you wish to go
What are your plans for the car because I will be the first to tell you that an increase in the suspension department will make your car a lot quicker around town
So what are you looking for precisely

Pardon my ignorance but I was uder the impression that Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulators were for turbo vehicles and were set according to boost. I know very little about them so a bit more info would be great? Did you set a standard pressure for your car and was the rest of the standard system up to the task?

Can you reccomend a brand that was appropriate for the fairly low pressure (I would assume) requirements for the V6?

I installed some racing headers, Injen open airfilterm, Denso Iridium sparkplugs with Magnecore leads, cat and mid damper removed and a Invidia endbox.
Sounds great (check it out here: Testrun or this one filmed out of another V6

Here's a pic of the old and new header:

Or you can get a KL ZE engine installed
