you can adjust the clutch with the nuts on both the pedal and where the cable meets the gearbox.

when its time to upgrade it, get the pressure plate uprated...this will increase the clamping force..

BG's run a hydrolic clutch don't they? If so, I'd try bleeding the clutch system/changing the fluid.
I have run Exedy heavy duty's in my car (with the pressure plate supplied with the kit) for many years now (onto my third exedy clutch) and have found them a great improvement over a 'stock' clutch - take up is 'grabby' as you would put it, but easily modulated and you can easily tell what the clutch is doing. I personally wouldn't want to put a harsher clutch on these gearboxes (and don't really see the need to for street work). Moral of the story is that in my car (BF Mazda 323 with cable clutch actuation), I can't say I've experienced any lack of clutch pick-up or pedal feel - I would suggest you first try to bleed or replace your clutch fluid. If that doesn't fix it, maybe look for leaks in the master or slave cylinder. |
