Howdy, another Adelaide Familia driver?!

Howdy people? A new GTR owner in Adelaide.

Just joined after having my GTR now named Tenchu (Japanese for Wrath of Heaven, somewhat suiting to the car in my opinion ) for only two weeks or so. Bought a white 93 thats only done 129,000ks & has been well looked after, unfortunately doesn't have the sunroof/ABS package Looks like I might be visiting SunRoof City sometime in the future. Will take a little while to adjust to not having the open rush of air experience I like, but now have something else to keep me amused. Turbo power!

My other ride is a 89 Mazda MX-5 named MarioKart is having a replacement engine put in (after something going major rattle rattle in the head at 266,000Ks) before it goes for sale soonish Has been an extremely fun car but some sacrifices have to be made to get the ultimate car I want.. A 2004 MX-5 SE Turbo

Where do the GTX/GTR/GT-Ae drivers hangout? Joined 323gtx.co.uk, barely alive. 323performance seems to of disappeared? FordLaser.com is ok but not a huge amount of proper social chitchat, FamiliaGTR.com is dead... Certainly nothing like the MX-5 communities that for the most part like to just socialise & share their knowledge & love for their cars. I feel isolated... lol..

I spose having a car that was only made in very limited numbers doesn't allow much of a enthusiast community, though it has it perks like hardly anyone on the road knowing what these cars are & what they're capable of

So some photoes.

Some things done to it from last owners. Larger front mount intercooler thats been painted black, k&n pod filter, 3" stainless exhaust system with hi flow cat, VDO boost gauge in a bad spot, 16" A-Tech bronze wheels, slotted brake rotors, GFB BOV, Walbro fuel pump, Exedy HD organic clutch, Tisonics alarm/immobiliser/turbo timer, Sony headunit & sub.

Don't really need to do anything to it myself. Except fix up the top radiator hose that cracked Friday nite.... Hose is on order so will have to wait till next weekend to get it in A short shifter kit, I've been spoilt by the MX-5 short throw snick snick gearbox..Probably will change out the subwoofer box to the Bose unit thats fitted in the space saver tyre on the Mazda 6 Luxury, not an audiophile person myself so I should be perfectly happy with it. Plus I'll regain back some space in the hatch

Hello and welcome.
I luv the look of your car. Have seen it before on both OMC and FL. It's nice to have some GTX/GTRs joining our ranks, even tho most of AGT has the non turbo FWD versions of your car.

U selling the Kart? How much?

Ryan

Thanks for the welcomes.

The MarioKart will hopefully sell for about 9-10 grand. The engine thats going into it is from a 98 NB6, the 2nd gen MX-5 with a 1.6L engine thats only available in Japan & UK. It uses the 2nd gen style electronics as like the 2nd gen MX-5 1.8L that sold in Australia, but for my car it'll remain using the original old style 1.6 electronics. The donor engine has only done 33,000ks & features the revised crankshaft design & solid lifter head No more damned HLA ticking!

It'll also have the timing belt kit, waterpump, sparkplugs, new MazdaSpeed engine mounts, silicone heater hoses, clutch cylinder, oil change done as well.

Other mods that are done are 4-2-1 extractors with insulation wrapping, Whiteline lowering springs with KYB AGX adjustable shock absorbers, PrestigeAutoTrim glass window softtop (no more fading/creasing/having to unzip of original plastic window version), imitation Loch Stewart windshield cowl intake (probably will keep this for myself though), I.L. MotorSports front & rear subframe braces, I.L. MotorSports black mesh nose grille, top radiator airflow cover, lightweight StarCorp Racing Royal wheels in 14", front slotted Brembo brake disks with Bendix Advance pads all round, Alpine headunit with 6 CD stacker in the boot & Kenwood speakers. Also has Autowatch security & airconditioning has been retrofitted to the current AC gas.

Brake disks have been recently machined & all fluids/oils are getting changed or have been changed not along ago. Will be sad to see it go Will be losing some money on it & did think about selling it with a blown engine but would have limited buyers, plus I love this car so much it really deserves a good engine. It will of course be unstickered & a regular rego plate put on before sale. I'm keeping the MarioKart stuff for the future MX-5 SE

Some old photoes, more can be seen at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/754253

eh? the 7 Star Leaf Initial D Roadster??
