Bought a 91 BG Astina SP for my daughter(2 Astinas actually)
the registed one is the aqua green colour, other one is the faded red Decided to join since I've never had anything to do with Mazda vehicles These are both SP models 1.8 twin cam so first of all, are there any parts from other models or even vehicles that fit these 91 models(I already know the front springs from a Laser fit) I'll also be looking to swap a set of 4 super low springs(about 50mm lowered) for some 20-30mm lowered springs once I've swapped over a few parts from the old red one I'll be looking to sell it also, it may even have a RWC then all will be listed in the trad forum Other Info required is there a rear garnish available that has "Astina" on it instead of "323" or "mazda323" The red car has darker tail lights(with rear fogs) and the garnish has "mazda323" the green one had lighter tail lights, no fogs and the garnish has just "323" Things I've noticed about these cars The paint is crap and fades The front door arm rests in the power window models are like cardboard, and fall to bits exterior "A" pillar plastic trims fall off(we will have a good RHS one to sell) pretty much it for now Cheers

as for the a pillar molds they will cost a tidy 200+. arm rests are easily fixed(tho i havnt had to fix mine) and for a 18yo car unless the owners paid extra care to the paintwork its kinda to be expected. i have seen newer cars with worse paint.

Someone put in some real effort to make these, Stainless steel, folded, cut(20+times to get the curve right) re welded and trimmed to fit the roof and guard edges, they look as good as the standard plastic units, only problem is they didn't use the standard mounting screw holes but drilled new holes, I'm going to fix this in time

those home made covers sound familiar. didn't someone on here do that? make sure those covers are secure, i've heard of people trying to steal the pillar trims.
if the arm rests annoying you pop the trims off and reinforced them with some fibreglass. easy fix anyways welcome to agt.

Located at Beachmere, up between Caboolture and Bribie Island The stainless trims I'm going to have the existing holes filled and new holes drilled to match the standard mounting screw holes, with a couple if screws in behind the door frame to help stop then going missing, Hmmm does that mean I have to steer clear of you lot? Pics will be taken when I've finished swapping and fitting parts

needs new shocks RHS front electric window motor/Mech(gears stuffed and won't wind up I think) red paint is stuffed and has some dodgy painted panels electric engine fan needs rewiring a few other minor things, but it drives ok new brakes all round SP alloys with good tyres Sunroof works(with a push to get it started, I think there is an adjustment needed on it) comes complete with AstinaGT.com sticker too Be a great project car, especially for someone with a red Non SP, swap some panels and other bits, paint the roof
