Well it started on the 3rd turn of the key and ran smooth after a timing and idle adjustment. It does however have what I believe is an air leak, when I sit it at around 2250rpm the revs die then come back constantly. I think it may be leaking around the injectors..... is it possible to remove them without removing the manifold??

Thanks guys, I went out tonight and it now has a whole 22k's on the engine lol

The bar is a mazdaspeed and the battery terminals are Scosche ones which I got from JBHifi.

Well I've now clocked up 1,150k's on the engine and am about to change the oil to a Penrite 10w40 Full Synthetic.
I noticed today that when the car is at running temp it has a tiny little 'miss' every now and then when at idle so I've ordered some new ignition leads and whipped the plugs out this arvo to have a look.
I thought they all looked rather good except this one from #3 cylinder which has some build-up on it. Not sure if it's the cause or result of the 'miss' or if I should be concerned about it?

#3 ignition lead may be worn a little more than the rest? Or possible injector in need of a clean? Not supplying enough fuel?

They'd be the first things I'd be checking! :P

Today I replaced the lower control arm bushes with Nolathane and put a new ball joint on the driver's side.
