I suppose I should start a record of progress for the 'Panda'.....

As I bought it...

Replaced the deteriorated steering wheel....

Recently I replaced the badly worn front swaybar rubbers, swaybar links and springs with Nolathane and King Lows.

Next on the list is new shocks, shock mounts and then exhaust.....

Yeah I would've taken it off on the first day of ownership but I've seen too many friends get hit in the rear end where a towbar would've prevented a lot of the damage.

Ok today I had a day off work so installed a Mazdaspeed front strut brace, 22mm rear swaybar and Cusco rear strut brace which I purchased from these forums (Thanks Pat323).

I am very impressed with the handling now

My battery died so with a future audio install in mind I purchased an Optima D34 battery.

I purchased some more audio bits today for my upcoming stereo upgrade. Already have a respectable Alpine H/U but also purchased a set of Boston Pro60LE's for the front, Pioneer GM-5400T amp to power them, Pioneer TS-A1683S speakers for the rear, 0ga cables, bulk pack of Dynamat Extreme and all bits necessary for installing 2-3 amps. I havent decided on subwoofers yet and will most likely involve 2x 12" woofers in custom boxes built into the sides of the boot with a compartment in the middle for storage. I'll be ditching the spare wheel and getting one of those self-inflating puncture repair thingys for emergency.

Will post pics when I start.......

I started the install today. Pulled the seats out so I could run the power cable down the passenger side.

I ran the cable though the same route as the main harness...

After this I installed the new rear speakers. I was expecting to find stock speakers but instead found these:

It's a pity the passenger side one crackles a little. Anyways in went the new:

I then started constructing the rear panel for mounting the amps and wiring etc.

The final thing for the day was putting the new positive terminal and 0ga fuse holder on:

The fuse holder is mounted there temporarily til I rig something else up.

So that was my day, next weekend will be sound deadening the front doors, installing new speakers, finishing the rear panel and mounting an amplifier.

looks like a lot of work.
i wouldnt be bothered taking seats out... hell i'm lazy enough to probly just tape the wires to the ceiling lol

Thanks guys, I'm trying to do this install properly the first time for once hehe

Still have to decide on which sub(s) and how many to run.... 1x or 2x 12", SQ or SPL, Sealed or Ported........

My most recent install consisted of Soundstream Reference RF.60C splits (~185rms each) and 2x Soundstream RW-12 subs (600rms each). I was very impressed with the subs running in a ported box tuned to 30Hz..... not sure if I want to go that loud again though.....

sealed is better if you want the bass to punch (how some people blow out back window)
ported is better for actually bass soundi suggest you take into account if you want to use the boot. for my mates lancers and tarago (this has 4 12" lol) we made so you can take it out easly incase of emergency or to cart stuff around
and all the wires are hiden from view for the monoblocks, amps etc
