K&N V Pipercross Panel Filter?

I'm going to put in a panel filter because at the moment I haven't got the time I'd need to do the job I want to do on it, so I'm going to go for the quick and easy option for now.
The question I have is has anyone used or heard of Pipercross filters as I can get one much quicker and a bit cheaper than a K&N one but I'd prefer to spend the few extra quid and wait if I knew the K&N would out perform the Pipercross one.
Any info or opinions?

I haven't seen the Pipercross before, but I'd think there wouldn't be much difference in performance. Considering a K&N panel filter only gets a 2.4kw increase (dyno proven in a BJ 1.8). I'm guessing the main difference would be how long the filter would last.

What are the kW gains on a KF engine?
I know the K&N have a million mile/ten year warranty and I don't know what Pipercross offer. Somerthing I'll have to check out.

Just replaced my filter with a K&N panel filter (cost me $68 from rocket industries) and ..wow!!!..what a difference it made. I had sluggish & flat acceleration with bit of jerk before and now all those problems have disappeared. It’s very smooth and responses very quickly. You can instantly feel the difference. I’m sure my fuel consumption will improve too. I have to wait till I fill up my tank next time. Yep…go with a k&N panel !!
